An upscale Japanese restaurant on the ground floor of The Century, The Hinoki & The Bird is alluring with its simple aesthetic and calm dining ambiance. The open, airy space incorporates floor to ceiling windows and wood beams to create a spacious, light environment to complement the laid-back vibe and the earthy outdoor patio seating. The hearty food and alcohol on the menu compliment the design an addition to the overall local flair of the cuisine.
On the dinner menu is roast duck with tamarind jus or the halibut with Peking duck broth. Among the hustle and bustle of the Los Angeles neighborhood district, Century City, where condos, offices, and hotels abound, this restaurant is a much-needed oasis from the business of city life.
With diverse offerings ranging from safe to adventurous, there is no shortage when it comes to variety. Everything on the menu, from the sweet yellowtail with passion fruit and raw fish to the classic salmon or a chicken sandwich with gem slaw, is curated to match the diversity of palates that are drawn to the LA food scene.
They also have uniquely prepared salads such as the grain salad with quinoa and strawberries. Or the chopped salad with salami and chickpeas.
